Science festivals held in Bartın and Hatay showcase technology

Various science festivals have been held across Turkey, focusing on technology, defense, and education.

In Bartın, the Science Festival at Bartın University attracted approximately 60,000 visitors over three days. The event featured domestic and national technologies, most notably the Bayraktar TB2 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), which drew significant interest. Visitors received information regarding the UAV's operational history in various international conflicts. Additionally, a robot named ‘Canik Man’ performed traditional dances and taekwondo demonstrations.

In Hatay's Defne district, the ‘Köklerden Göklere’ (From Roots to Skies) science festival was organized under the TÜBİTAK 4007 program. The three-day event included 30 different workshops, scientific talks, and night sky observations aimed at encouraging scientific curiosity among youth. Hatay Governor Mustafa Masatlı attended the opening, noting the importance of young people becoming designers and implementers of technology rather than just consumers. He also provided updates on the reconstruction of educational infrastructure following the February 6 earthquakes, stating that 257 schools have been opened and 44 are currently under construction.
