Kayseri health professionals hold memorial for Gaza children
In Kayseri, Turkey, health professionals and students held a memorial event at Talas Gazzeli Çocuklar Parkı to honor children killed in Gaza. Organized by the Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine Hekimhane Club and the Health and Civilization Association, the event featured a 12-meter-long banner displaying the names of 16,000 children.
During the program, Hekimhane Club President Ömer Çağrı Akarsu cited statistics stating that between October 7, 2023, and October 19, 2025, 18,500 children were among the 60,000 Palestinians killed in Gaza. He noted that 953 of these children were under one year old and that children represent 31 percent of the total fatalities.
To preserve the memory of the deceased, Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. İsmail Dursun announced plans for a park and afforestation project. The event was attended by various medical professionals, including doctors, dentists, and pharmacists, who wore white coats in solidarity.
