Kayseri mayor announces 25 million‑TL rainwater pipeline project
Kayseri’s Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç inspected a new rainwater drainage project in the Erenköy neighbourhood of the Melikgazi district. The project, carried out by the city’s water and sewage authority KASKİ, involves laying about 1,800 metres of 800‑mm pipe at a cost of roughly 25 million Turkish lira.
The mayor said the work is “aimed at reducing flood problems in various parts of the city and managing rainwater efficiently,” adding that KASKİ’s investments in rainwater infrastructure “provide a strong contribution to the city’s overall utilities network.” The initiative is intended to mitigate surface‑water runoff from the surrounding hills and improve long‑term resilience against flash flooding.
