Kayseri and Aydın municipalities launch major drinking‑water network upgrades

Kayseri Büyükşehir Belediyesi, led by Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, completed the first phase of a drinking‑water pipeline renewal in the Alpaslan neighbourhood. The work was carried out at night to avoid traffic disruption and is part of a broader programme of water‑infrastructure upgrades across the city, overseen by the Kayseri Water and Sewerage Administration (KASKİ). KASKİ has also announced a 110 million‑lira investment to modernise the network.

In the Kıranardı neighbourhood, residents continue to suffer from water scarcity, highlighting uneven progress within the city’s upgrade efforts.

Meanwhile, Aydın Büyükşehir Belediyesi, under Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu, is building a 56.5‑kilometre drinking‑water transmission line to the Germencik district. The project includes seven storage tanks and four booster stations, drawing water from the İkizdere Dam and the ASKİ Balıkköy treatment plant, and will supply roughly 18,000 m³ per day to Germencik’s centre and 13 surrounding villages. The aim is to strengthen supply, replace aging pipelines and meet future demand.
