Kayseri Municipality Hosts Perseid Meteor Shower Event at Erciyes Mountain

The Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, together with Erciyes A.Ş. and the Kayseri Science Center, will hold a free Perseid Meteor Shower visual festival on 12 August at the Erciyes ski resort’s Hacılar Gate. The gathering, set at 2,650 m altitude, offers a dark‑sky environment away from light pollution for observers to watch the annual meteor peak.

The event runs until the gondola’s final departure at 23:00 and includes talks by professional astronomers on planets and constellations, as well as telescope viewing opportunities. Attendees are advised to bring warm clothing, camping chairs, blankets and other gear to stay comfortable in the mountain weather.
