Manisa Mayor Announces New Selendi Picnic and Play Area

Manisa Metropolitan Municipality is building a modern 5,500 m² recreational zone in Selendi’s Şerefiye neighbourhood. The project will include a non‑smoking picnic area with 52 tables, a 15 m² kiosk, a 40 m² accessible public toilet, and a 115 m² children's playground. A three‑tier terracing system will provide safe circulation on the sloping site.

Landscape design emphasizes sustainability, using drought‑resistant tree species and low‑maintenance shrubs that limit erosion. Mayor Besim Dutlulu said the area will offer a “safe, comfortable and nature‑compatible space for families” and will be part of equal‑service investments across all 17 districts of Manisa.
