Kazakhstan President to announce new Vice President within 10 days

Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced that the identity of the country’s new Vice President will be revealed within the next seven to ten days. Speaking during a briefing following the Kurultai elections, Tokayev emphasized that the newly established constitutional position is essential for the nation during its current complex period. He noted that the appointee is expected to be a well-known figure.

In addition to the appointment, Tokayev outlined broader political and developmental reforms. He highlighted the upcoming activation of the Kazakhstan People's Council, describing it as a multifunctional political mechanism intended to strengthen and develop the functions previously held by the Assembly.

The President also detailed large-scale infrastructure and social development plans, aiming to transform Kazakhstan into a major construction site. These projects include building polyclinics, child rehabilitation centers, and significant landmarks in Astana, such as a new bridge and the Dombra Palace, as part of the ‘Taza Kazakhstan’ initiative.
