The KDE community announced the point release of KDE Plasma 6.7. The update adds a global microphone‑mute hotkey, a full‑screen "Bigscreen" mode for TV mirroring, a new print‑queue viewer and support for typing non‑standard characters.

A headline feature is per‑screen virtual desktops, allowing each monitor to have an independent workspace layout, a long‑awaited improvement for multi‑monitor users. Additional enhancements include Wayland performance boosts, multi‑GPU Vulkan swapchain support, HDR colour management, and tighter integration of Flatpak background apps in the system tray.

The release also introduces an experimental CSS‑based theming engine called Union, brings back the Oxygen theme with light/dark variants, and adds new sound themes and a quick microphone‑volume tester. Slackware’s latest branch has integrated KDE Plasma 6, and the Chinese IT‑Zhou report confirms the same feature set with a focus on Wayland optimisation.
