KDE Plasma 6.7 Desktop Environment Release
KDE Plasma 6.7 is scheduled for release on Tuesday, 16 June 2026 after a brief delay for final stability testing. The update introduces a global microphone‑mute hotkey, per‑monitor virtual‑desktop configurations and a visual audit trail that notifies users whenever an application initiates a remote‑control session.
Key user‑facing enhancements include refined KRunner search logic that suppresses “Global Shortcuts” results when more relevant matches exist, improved pointer navigation via the number pad, and an automatic day/night theme switch that now changes at the midpoint of dawn and dusk. Additional improvements cover bug fixes across the system—such as preventing crashes after sleep, fixing widget regressions, and stabilising multi‑activity setups—as well as performance optimizations for Intel‑based laptops aimed at extending battery life and responsiveness.
