KDE Plasma 6.8 adds built‑in remote desktop and RAM‑saving clipboard tweaks

KDE’s development team released a weekly roundup highlighting work on Plasma 6.8, the 6.7.x maintenance branch and the Kup 0.11.0 update. The most visible change is the integration of a built‑in remote‑desktop server (krdp), which now fixes a long‑standing black‑screen bug and reduces latency on weaker networks.

Memory usage is also trimmed: the clipboard‑history pop‑up loads on demand instead of at login, cutting idle RAM consumption. Additional UI refinements include subtle visual tweaks, on‑demand printer‑offline notifications, tighter task‑manager tooltips and corrected window‑list behavior. The Kup 0.11.0 release improves default backup exclusions for cache files and Btrfs snapshots.
