Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris Holds High-Level Security Summit Amid Rising Banditry

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris convened a high‑level security meeting at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, bringing together senior officials from the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Security and Civil Defence Corps, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, vigilante groups, the Ministry of Internal Security, all 21 local government chairmen and members of the State Executive Council. The summit addressed the surge in banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities that have plagued rural communities across the state. Participants reviewed current security operations, discussed intelligence sharing and planned joint strategic responses to improve inter‑agency coordination and protect lives and property throughout Kebbi's 21 local government areas.

Governor Idris reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to peace, urging sustained collaboration between security agencies and community leaders to deter criminal threats and restore confidence among residents.
