KEDE Annual Conference to be held in Kalamata

The Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) will hold its Annual Ordinary Conference in Kalamata from November 5 to 7, 2026. Hosted at the Elite City Resort, the event will bring together elected representatives from across the country to discuss the implementation of the new Local Government Code.

Under the theme ‘Strong Municipalities – Strong Local Communities – Strong Greece’, the conference aims to address the administrative and financial autonomy of municipalities as guaranteed by the constitution. Key topics include securing more financial resources, addressing staffing needs, and adapting to the new institutional framework.

The program includes contributions from Interior Minister Theodoros Livianis and European Commissioner for Sustainable Mobility and Transport Apostolos Tzitzikostas. The event serves as a critical platform for local leaders to define their priorities and advocate for the effective functioning of primary local government bodies.
