KEDE Digital Governance Committee meets in Larissa

The KEDE Digital Governance Committee is holding its first session outside of Athens in Larissa. Chaired by Larissa Mayor Thanasis Mamakos, the meeting focuses on integrating Artificial Intelligence into local government operations and addressing cybersecurity within municipalities.

The session takes place ahead of the Annual Regular Congress of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) scheduled for November 5-7 in Kalamata. This upcoming congress occurs during the implementation of the New Local Government Code. KEDE is currently advocating for the financial autonomy of municipalities, the proper costing of their responsibilities, and the securing of resources for energy and water management, climate resilience, housing, and social welfare.
