Keihan Department Store launches Bakery Ataka pop‑up amid wave of new Japanese retail events

The Keihan Department Store Suminoe location in Osaka will host its first‑time pop‑up bakery Ataka from 25 June to 1 July, offering a variety of freshly baked breads in a temporary venue set up in front of the store’s McDonald’s.

Other Japanese retail and pop‑culture happenings reported this month include the launch of the Odaiba Fan Rising real‑world event by Fuji TV (content announced on 5 June), Don Quijote’s limited‑edition ChiiKawa merchandise, the opening of a ChiiKawa Bakery in Osaka’s Umeda district, and the release of a new opening theme and cast for the ChiiKawa film. The issue also highlights the 42nd Tokyo Fashion Goods Trade Show and several brand successes such as MU‑MU Friends and Sony Creative Products securing a master‑license deal.
