Keiko Fujimori announces meeting with Nayib Bukele

Peruvian President Keiko Fujimori has resumed her weekly TikTok live broadcasts, introducing a new format where government ministers will appear to provide accountability on their respective sectors. During her first session with Foreign Minister Carlos Espá, Fujimori announced an official trip to Central America scheduled for late October, which includes a bilateral meeting with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele.

In the domestic sphere, Senate President Miguel Torres praised Fujimori’s ability to engage internationally and her English proficiency. However, Torres addressed political tensions regarding the Executive's request for legislative powers to tackle El Niño, citizen insecurity, and state order. He criticized the delay in the Chamber of Deputies' rulings, suggesting that political opposition is hindering necessary responses to these urgent national issues.
