Keke Wyatt disputes charges following Georgia arrest
Singer Keke Wyatt is disputing reports regarding the charges she faces following her arrest in Henry County, Georgia, on September 20. While booking entries listed charges including aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and third-degree cruelty to children, Wyatt’s representatives state that court documentation reflects only a single charge of simple assault.
Her legal team expressed particular concern over allegations of child cruelty, calling it an “extremely serious characterization” that is not reflected in the court papers. The reported cruelty charge was categorized as a “witness” offense, which in Georgia can occur when a child is present during an act of violence.
According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest stemmed from a domestic disturbance during a custody exchange. An eyewitness reported seeing Wyatt point a handgun at a vehicle and make verbal threats. Wyatt was released two days after her arrest after posting a $1,050 bond.
