Kelag opens Carinthia’s largest e-charging hub in Hermagor
Kelag has opened Carinthia’s largest public electric vehicle charging hub in Hermagor, Austria. The project involved an investment of approximately 1.4 million euros.
Located directly on the Gailtal Bundesstraße, the facility features twelve covered fast-charging points, each capable of delivering up to 300 kW. To support sustainable energy use, the site includes an integrated photovoltaic system, a lounge, and additional service offerings.
Company officials noted that the hub is seeing strong demand from both local residents and travelers during its initial weeks of operation. Alexander Jordan, Kelag’s head of sales and e-mobility, stated that the expansion of the public fast-charging network is essential for making electric mobility practical for everyday use in the region. Local leaders, including Mayor Leopold Astner and Provincial Councilor Sebastian Schuschnig, highlighted the importance of the infrastructure for regional development and the ongoing transition to electric transport.
