Kelechi Iheanacho scores in 12th straight game as Bursaspor moves to top

Kelechi Iheanacho extended his scoring streak to 12 consecutive league matches on Sunday, scoring Bursaspor’s third goal in a 4-2 away victory against Keçiörengücü. The win moves Bursaspor to the top of the Turkish 1. Lig with 28 points from 12 matches.

Iheanacho’s goal in the 50th minute broke a 2-2 deadlock at Aktepe Stadium. The 30-year-old Nigerian forward has recorded 16 goals and three assists in 12 appearances this season. Other goals for Bursaspor were provided by Lewis Baker and Lincoln Henrique, the latter of whom received a red card following a second yellow in the 84th minute.

During the match, Iheanacho was substituted in the 69th minute after receiving medical attention. Bursaspor head coach Mustafa Er downplayed injury concerns, stating the substitution was a precaution to avoid further risk as the team was already leading 4-2.
