Kelechi Iheanacho explains move from Celtic to Bursaspor

Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has addressed his decision to move from Scottish champions Celtic to Bursaspor in the Turkish second tier. Despite speculation that the move was motivated by higher wages, Iheanacho clarified to the Nigerian Football Federation that the decision was a personal choice.

Since joining Bursaspor, Iheanacho has recorded 11 goals and two assists in eight matches. His performance has contributed to Bursaspor sitting in second place in the Turkish 1. Lig, positioning the club for a potential promotion to the Super Lig.

Reflecting on the Turkish league, Iheanacho noted that it is a “genuinely tough division” and cautioned against underestimating the difficulty of the competition. He expressed satisfaction with his current surroundings and his ability to play the same game regardless of the country.
