Kelechi Iheanacho scores in 10th straight game despite Bursaspor defeat

Kelechi Iheanacho has scored in 10 consecutive matches for club and country, though Bursaspor suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Mardin 1969 Spor in the Turkish TFF 1. Lig. Iheanacho equalized in the 81st minute with a strike from outside the penalty area, but a stoppage-time goal by Zdravko Dimitrov secured the win for the visitors.

Iheanacho, who joined Bursaspor as a free agent from Celtic in the summer of 2026, has recorded 14 goal contributions this season. His scoring streak includes nine consecutive league games for Bursaspor and a recent goal for Nigeria against Russia.

Bursaspor head coach Mustafa Er credited the striker's successful transition to the club, noting that the team's growing productivity and positive spirit have aided individual performances. Bursaspor currently sits on 19 points, three points behind league leaders Kayserispor.
