Kelechi Iheanacho scores ninth league goal for Bursaspor

Several Nigerian footballers achieved notable results in European leagues on Sunday. Kelechi Iheanacho continued a prolific run for Bursaspor in the Turkish first division, scoring his ninth league goal of the season. His goal in the 16th minute helped secure a 2-2 home draw against Erokspor, marking his seventh consecutive game with a goal.

In Belgium, Rafiu Durosinmi returned to the scoresheet for Genk, scoring in a 1-1 draw against Gent. Durosinmi has now recorded five goals in six league appearances since joining the club this summer. Meanwhile, in the Czech Republic, 18-year-old Linus Zika scored twice as a second-half substitute to lead Sparta Prague B to a 4-1 victory over Bohemians.

In England, Onyeka Awoniyi received a straight red card for violent conduct during Coventry’s 5-0 loss to Brighton. The dismissal occurred in the second half after Awoniyi elbowed Maxim De Cuyper during an aerial challenge, a decision upheld by VAR.
