Kelechi Iheanacho sets Turkish football scoring record

Bursaspor striker Kelechi Iheanacho has set a new record in Turkish professional football by scoring in 10 consecutive league matches. The Nigerian forward achieved this milestone during Bursaspor’s 3-0 away victory against Muğlaspor in the Trendyol 1. Lig.

Iheanacho’s 10-game scoring streak surpasses the previous long-standing record of nine consecutive matches held by legendary figures Metin Oktay and Saffet Sancaklı. In the match against Muğlaspor, Iheanacho scored twice and provided an assist, contributing to all three of his team's goals.

This season, the 30-year-old has demonstrated exceptional productivity, recording 14 goals and three assists in just 10 appearances. His performance has been a primary driver for Bursaspor, which currently sits in second place in the league standings.
