Costa Rica launches national infrastructure and cultural preservation initiatives

Costa Rica is undertaking several national initiatives focused on infrastructure, culture, and historical commemoration. The Ministry of Culture and Youth has allocated ₡410 million to modernize the National Library in San José, aiming to safeguard historical archives and improve structural safety.

In the education sector, the PROERI program, managed by the National Commission for Risk Prevention and Emergency Attention (CNE) and the Ministry of Public Education (MEP), has launched reconstruction projects for five schools in the Alajuelita and Desamparados cantons to address infrastructure deficits caused by extreme weather.

Cultural activities are also prominent. The country is celebrating the Month of the Homeland with ceremonies honoring the 178th anniversary of the Republic's foundation. Additionally, the Ministry of Culture is hosting a Dominican Republic film cycle and celebrating National Comic Book Day with various workshops and exhibitions.

In the business sector, San José is preparing to host the Keller Williams Family Reunion 2026, a high-profile summit covering topics such as artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
