Kelly Clarkson explains why she is prioritizing her children over dating

Singer Kelly Clarkson has addressed her current dating status, stating she is “unwilling” to enter a new relationship at this time. During an appearance on the “Las Culturistas” podcast, Clarkson explained that her primary focus is on her two children, River, 12, and Remington, 10.

Clarkson noted that her family is still adjusting to life following the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, who passed away in August 2025 after a private battle with melanoma. She expressed concern that introducing a new partner into their lives might “rock their boat” during this period of transition.

Additionally, Clarkson shared that she is genuinely content with her current lifestyle and the routine she has established in New York City. She emphasized that she values her time and energy, stating, “I feel like if you’re going to be in a relationship, you have to be willing to give some of your time up — and I am unwilling.”

While rumors have circulated regarding potential chemistry with “The Voice” co-star Riley Green, Clarkson has maintained her focus on her children and her music career following the conclusion of “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
