Kelly Doualla sets European U18 100m record with 11.14‑second gold in Rieti
Italian teenager Kelly Doualla captured the 100‑metre title at the European Under‑18 Championships in Rieti, Italy, finishing in 11.14 seconds. The time improved the European U18 record by 0.07 seconds and tied the second‑fastest mark in Italian history, matching sprinter Manuela Levorato’s 2001 performance.
Doualla said she aimed to stay “as carefree as possible,” noting that listening to music and laughing with her coach during warm‑up helped keep anxiety away. She dominated the final, beating Greece’s Apostolia Antonatou (11.46) by three‑tenths of a second and Britain's Celine Obinna‑Alo (11.50). The victory adds a third individual European title to her résumé and positions her among Italy’s top sprint talents.
