Kelly Osbourne expresses concerns over son's potential genetic risk for addiction

Kelly Osbourne has expressed concerns regarding her three-year-old son Sidney’s potential risk of addiction, citing what she believes to be a genetic disorder. During an appearance on the podcast ‘We Need To Talk’, the 41-year-old television personality discussed how her own history with substance use and the struggles of her late father, Ozzy Osbourne, inform her fears.

Osbourne noted that her own struggles with alcohol and drugs began at age 13 as a way to cope with the pressures of sudden fame following ‘The Osbournes’. She described the experience of becoming a global celebrity as a disorienting period of insecurity and self-doubt. She expressed a desire for her son to develop the emotional security necessary to avoid similar coping mechanisms.
