Kelowna community hosts fundraisers for mental health and Parkinson's research

Kelowna is hosting two upcoming community fundraisers focused on health and wellness.

The third annual ‘Diwali for a Cause’ will take place on October 24 at the Kelowna Event Centre. This celebration of the Festival of Lights aims to raise funds for mental health care across the Okanagan, with proceeds supporting the KGH Foundation. The event will feature cultural performances, a buffet dinner, and community networking.

Additionally, the ‘Spirit of Hope’ fundraiser is scheduled for October 15 at Erica Jane restaurant. This event seeks to advance research and care for Parkinson’s disease at the Humphreys Family Movement Disorder Clinic located at Kelowna General Hospital. The evening will include a culinary experience, a fashion show, and a silent auction, with keynote speaker Dr. Daryl Wile discussing clinical advances.
