Kelowna Made festival cancelled due to wildfire smoke threat
The Kelowna Made festival, originally scheduled to take place from August 14 to 16 at City Park downtown, has been cancelled. Organizers cited concerns regarding local air quality due to wildfire smoke.
Mayor Tom Dyas announced the decision on August 12, stating that prioritizing community safety and respecting the demands on emergency resources was the primary motivation. While skies appeared clear on the day of the announcement, Environment Canada had issued a yellow air quality alert for the Okanagan region.
