Kelowna to launch Memory Cafe and Brain Health Clinics

Medical Arts Health Research Group and the Research Finds Cures Foundation are introducing new dementia-focused resources in Kelowna this October. A free Memory Cafe will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Laurel Packinghouse to support individuals living with memory loss, their families, and care partners.

Additionally, registration is opening for Brain Health Clinics utilizing a protocol from the University of Geneva. These clinics focus on four pillars: risk profiling, risk communication, risk reduction, and cognitive enhancement. Participants can receive cognitive screenings, risk questionnaires, and personalized plans addressing diet, exercise, blood pressure, and social activity. The initiative aims to reduce stigma and gather feedback to inform dementia policy in British Columbia.
