Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's potential CHP leadership strategy emerges

Speculation is growing regarding Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu’s potential strategy for the upcoming Republican People's Party (CHP) congress in September. Reports suggest Kılıçdaroğlu may avoid a direct declaration of candidacy, instead aiming to be nominated for the chairmanship through the signatures of delegates. According to party rules, a candidate requires written support from at least 5% of the total delegate count, which would equate to approximately 70 signatures.

Internal tensions exist within the party, with some factions calling for Kılıçdaroğlu to explicitly state he is not running. Meanwhile, CHP Deputy Chairperson Deniz Demir addressed party discipline during a press meeting, stating that members who promote the posts or membership calls of other political parties would face disciplinary sanctions. Demir emphasized that such actions violate party ethics and that the consequences for such behavior are well-established within the organization.
