Kemal Memişoğlu calls for advancement in health technology
Turkish Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu has called for increased collaboration between academia, industry, and the healthcare sector to advance medical technology and scientific production. Speaking at the Bezmialem Vakıf University academic year opening ceremony, Memişoğlu emphasized that while Turkey is among the world's top providers of healthcare services, the nation must now transition into a leader in producing health knowledge and technology.
Memişoğlu highlighted the importance of domestic developments, such as local ventilators, heart-lung machines, diagnostic technologies, and vaccine research. He urged universities to address field-based problems through scientific research and encouraged entrepreneurs with ideas in health technology to collaborate with the ministry.
The Minister also focused on the role of the younger generation, stating that the goal is to train students who are more knowledgeable and capable than their predecessors, enabling them to find solutions to complex medical challenges.
