Ken Paxton holds narrow lead in Texas Senate race poll
A new Trafalgar Group poll shows Republican Ken Paxton holding a slim 0.6 percentage point lead over Democrat James Talarico in the Texas Senate race. Paxton received 48.1% support compared to Talarico’s 47.5%, according to the survey of 1,089 likely voters conducted on October 31 and November 1. The margin of error for the poll is plus or minus 2.9 percentage points.
The data reveals significant demographic divides. Paxton maintains advantages among older voters, men, and white voters. Conversely, Talarico leads among women, Hispanic voters, and Black voters, with his strongest support coming from voters aged 30 to 39.
Paxton, who has served as Texas attorney general since 2015, secured his position in the Republican primary by defeating incumbent Senator John Cornyn. He has received endorsements from Donald Trump, who described him as one of the top attorneys general in the United States.
