Ken Paxton receives major GOP funding for Texas Senate race

Republican leadership is significantly increasing financial support for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s U.S. Senate campaign. A super PAC linked to Senate Majority Leader John Thune has purchased approximately $32 million in television advertisements, while the Trump-aligned MAGA Inc. has spent $10 million.

Despite this influx of capital, Paxton is currently trailing Democratic nominee and state Representative James Talarico in recent polling. Talarico’s campaign has seen increased visibility, including a YouTube interview that garnered 5 million views within 24 hours after being pulled from a late-night television network.

Political analysts suggest the upcoming election represents uncharted territory for Texas, as Democrats aim to win statewide offices for the first time since 1994. While Republicans have maintained dominance for decades, shifting public sentiment regarding the economy and local infrastructure has created a highly competitive environment for the November election.
