Kenya DCI arrests suspects in KenGen theft and Meru forgery cases
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has conducted separate operations resulting in arrests for theft and forgery in Kenya.
In Nairobi, two suspects were arrested following the theft of an HP laptop and an iPad from the Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) premises on September 14, 2026. Detectives traced the first suspect to Imara Daima and later recovered the stolen laptop from a second suspect after verifying its serial number.
In Meru County, 51-year-old Henry Kinyua Mbiti was arrested in Mutuati Town for allegedly orchestrating a scheme to forge court documents. Mbiti is accused of posing as a court official to present counterfeit papers to litigants with cases at the Maua Law Courts and the Meru High Court. During a search of his residence, investigators recovered suspected forged court orders, land title certificates, and identity cards.
