Kenya educational bodies announce exam schedules and teacher deployment

The Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) has opened the application portal for the November 2026 Online Licensure Examinations. Eligible candidates must complete their applications through their respective training institutions by the October 5, 2026, deadline. The examination schedule includes mock exams in the third and fourth weeks of October, with a final rehearsal scheduled for November 10, 2026. The deadline for examination withdrawal is set for October 15, 2026.

In a separate educational development, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) have initiated the process of assigning personnel for the 2026 national examinations, including the KCSE, KJSEA, and KPSEA. Curriculum Support Officers are currently working with heads of institutions to identify teachers for roles such as Centre Managers, Supervisors, and Invigilators.

To ensure integrity, the KNEC CP2 online deployment system will prevent staff from being assigned to schools where they have worked within the last three years. Additionally, teachers must declare any conflicts of interest, such as having relatives sitting for exams at their assigned centres. The Ministry of Education has also directed schools to limit external activities, such as prayer sessions involving outsiders, to prevent disruptions during the examination period.
