Kenya government announces new appointments to various agencies

President William Ruto and several Cabinet Secretaries have announced a series of new appointments and reappointments to various government boards and agencies in Kenya, according to a Gazette Notice dated September 11, 2026.

Key appointments include members of the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee, such as Silvya C. Apaa and Ahmed Kanyara Bishar. Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi appointed Avedi Evans Kituzi as chairman of the Kenya National Innovation Agency, along with several new members. In the security sector, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen appointed Dr. Lorna Ogolla Omondi and Jerop Joy Kibor to the National Cybersecurity Agency board.

In the education sector, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba appointed Dr. Emily Kwamboka Nyagarama as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Bomet University Council and Moses Narok as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kajiado National Polytechnic Council. Additionally, Chief Justice Martha Koome appointed Mbaabu Kelvin Mutuma to the Auctioneers Licensing Board. Other changes were noted in the tourism and water sectors, including reappointments to the Tourism Fund Board of Trustees and leadership changes at the Coast Water Works Development Agency.
