Kenya schedules power outage in Kwale and water shutdown across Nairobi on June 15
Kenya Power announced a six‑hour scheduled power interruption for parts of Kwale County on Monday, June 15, affecting customers in Manyatta, Alliance Safari, Baobab and surrounding areas from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The outage is intended to allow planned maintenance work on the electricity network.
Nairobi Water also issued a notice of a temporary water supply interruption on the same day, citing a leak on the NCT‑Kigoro‑Gigiri‑Kabete transmission pipeline at Gatundu. The shutdown, lasting from 10 p.m. on June 15 to midday on June 16, will affect numerous residential and commercial neighborhoods including Westlands, Kibera, Lavington, Karen, Kilimani, Upperhill and others. Residents are asked to report concerns on the utility’s toll‑free line.
