Kenya signs AI and digital transformation deals with Intel and Stanford

Kenya has entered into multiple strategic partnerships to advance artificial intelligence and digital transformation. On the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly, the Kenyan government signed a deal with Intel Corporation to promote AI literacy. This initiative, titled ‘AI for Citizens’, will be implemented through the Kenya National Library Service and the Mandela AI Hub Foundation to provide accessible technology education through the country’s public library network.

Additionally, Kenya signed a five-year memorandum of understanding with the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. This agreement focuses on integrating data, AI, and digital tools into public administration. Key objectives include developing a monitoring and response system for El Niño events using geospatial and hydrological data, creating a digital trade readiness index, and establishing tools to monitor public-private partnership governance and economic sector resilience. These efforts aim to support Kenya Vision 2030 by utilizing technology to drive economic growth and modernize public services.
