Kenya signs Digital Cooperation Organization Charter
Kenya has signed the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) Charter during the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. This signing marks a significant step toward Kenya’s full accession as a Member State of the organization.
Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo Gitau, formally handed the charter to DCO Secretary-General Deemah AlYahya. The ceremony was witnessed by Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi.
The agreement aims to foster cooperation in several key areas, including digital transformation, responsible artificial intelligence, digital policy, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Through this partnership, Kenya seeks to deepen knowledge exchange with other DCO Member States to build a more inclusive and sustainable digital economy.
