Expansion of Digital Cooperation Organization membership
Overview
Multiple nations are moving toward membership in the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) by signing its charter.
In mid-September, Lebanon signed the DCO Charter and launched its Digital Prosperity Plan (DPP). The DPP aims to transform national digital priorities into initiatives focused on artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, connectivity, and entrepreneurship to foster a competitive digital economy. This move is expected to enhance regional cooperation, specifically with existing members like Cyprus.
Following this, Kenya signed the DCO Charter during the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Kenyan agreement seeks to promote cooperation in digital transformation, responsible artificial intelligence, digital policy, and innovation to build a more inclusive and sustainable digital economy through knowledge exchange with other member states.
