Kenyan police officer arrested in murder of psychologist Dr Victoria Mutiso

Detective Chief Inspector Mohamed Amin of Kenya's Directorate of Criminal Investigations confirmed that a police officer fired the shot that killed clinical psychologist Dr Victoria Mutiso in Upper Hill, Nairobi. The officer has been arrested.

Investigators also detained two other prime suspects, recovered the pistol believed to have been used and the motorcycle the killers rode. The pistol has been sent for ballistic testing. Lawyer Kyalo Mbobu, who represented Dr Mutiso, was also targeted in the attack. A press conference by the DCI is scheduled to detail the breakthrough.

The case has drawn widespread public attention and prompted further inquiries into additional suspects and the theft of Dr Mutiso's vehicles.
