Kepez authorities seize expired meat and mislabeled food
Authorities in Kepez conducted a comprehensive inspection of a food warehouse in the Yükseliş neighborhood following routine checks and citizen reports. The operation involved the Kepez Municipality Municipal Police, the Cleaning Affairs Directorate, the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, and the Kepez District Police Department.
During the inspection, officials discovered food products lacking production sites or dates, as well as items with expired or missing expiration dates. Notably, inspectors found pickles stored in containers labeled as ‘brine grape leaves.’
As a result, 152 kilograms of meat and meat products, along with 20 barrels of pickles, were seized and subsequently destroyed due to public health risks.
