During the same period, 825 expired products were confiscated from school canteens and 155 products from markets near schools. In Altındağ, municipal police audits of school canteens identified expired packaged goods and an expired fire extinguisher, resulting in penalties for operators. In Malatya, inspections at a local products fair led to the seizure of 230 kilograms of heat-treated chicken sausage being falsely sold as ‘beef sausage’ and 150 kilograms of processed cheese. Officials also confiscated 600 liters of mixed oil sold as olive oil, 285 kilograms of unlabeled tomato paste, and 86 liters of suspicious sauces labeled as pomegranate molasses, cranberry extract, and blueberry extract. The Malatya Governor's Office stated these measures were taken under Law No. 5996 to protect public health.
