Kerala Congress apologizes to Chief Justice of India

The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has issued an unconditional apology to Chief Justice of India Surya Kant following a controversial post on the party's official X account. The post, which demanded the Chief Justice's resignation and suggested finding a replacement, was published during a protest by the INDIA bloc alliance.

KPCC President Sunny Joseph stated in a reply to a legal notice that the remarks were unauthorized and did not reflect the official position or policy of the Indian National Congress. Joseph clarified that the post was published by Vijay Thottathil without the knowledge or approval of the party leadership.

As a result of the incident, Thottathil has been removed from his position and has been directed to issue a public apology. The KPCC reaffirmed its respect for the Constitution, judicial independence, and the office of the Chief Justice of India.
