Kerry‑Lynne Findlay Remains Candidate in BC Conservative Leadership Race Amid Election Probe

Former South Surrey‑White Rock MP Kerry‑Lynne Findlay will stay on the ballot for the British Columbia Conservative Party leadership contest despite a late‑stage challenge over allegations that her 2025 federal election campaign is under investigation by the Office of the Commissioner of Canada Elections.

The party’s Leadership Election Organizing Committee (LEOC) said it has repeatedly sought clarification from Elections Canada and from Findlay’s campaign but has received no substantive response. It concluded there is insufficient credible evidence to disqualify her, and voting opens on Saturday, May 23, 2026, with five candidates – Findlay, Iain Black, Caroline Elliott, Yuri Fulmer and Peter Milobar – on the ballot.

Findlay’s campaign maintains it has had no official notice of any investigation, while fellow candidate Yuri Fulmer praised the LEOC’s decision, saying, “Now that this sideshow circus is behind us, let’s get back to what really matters…”. Elliott voiced “serious concerns” about rumours of disqualification, urging that members not be deprived of a choice.
