Kevin Bacon's family horror film premieres at Karlovy Vary

Actor Kevin Bacon and his wife, actress Kyra Sedgwick, attended the 60th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival with their son Travis, unveiling their co‑directed horror‑comedy ‘Family Movie’. The film, starring the Bacon family, follows a fictional filmmaking family whose low‑budget slasher set is interrupted by a real murder they must conceal. Travis supplied the soundtrack, while daughter Sosie was absent from the screening. The family described the project as a collaborative effort born during the pandemic, noting, “We are really twisted people,” and highlighted the communal thrill of horror cinema. Bacon also joked about singing to goats on his Connecticut farm during an interview. This marked the Bacons’ first visit to the Czech Republic, where they addressed the audience in Czech and received enthusiastic applause.
