Kevin Godínez to perform at La Scala; Pasión Vega performs Almodóvar tribute

Costa Rican baritone Kevin Godínez is set to perform at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan later this month. He will take on two roles in upcoming productions: Belcore in Donizetti’s ‘L’elisir d’amore’ between October 24 and 28, and Valentín in Gounod’s ‘Faust’ on October 29.

Godínez’s invitation followed his success at the ORFEO Lyric Singing Contest of America 2026, where he won the Bronze Orfeo. The opportunity was extended by Paolo Gavazzeni, the artistic direction coordinator for La Scala, during the competition.

In Spain, singer Pasión Vega is performing a musical tribute to the films of director Pedro Almodóvar. The show, titled ‘Pasión Almodóvar,’ features a repertoire of songs inspired by the director’s cinematic works and is being performed alongside pianist Moisés P. Sánchez. The project, which began as a co-production for festivals in Andorra, has expanded into a tour and a recording due to its success.
