KFC expands operations and marketing efforts in Africa

KFC is implementing strategic growth and engagement initiatives across several African markets. In Zambia, the brand has announced a significant expansion phase aimed at increasing its local footprint. Currently operating 17 locations, KFC plans to open 25 new restaurants in areas including Lusaka, Chingola, Solwezi, Livingstone, and Kapiri Mposhi. Akhona Qengqe, KFC Africa General Manager, noted that the expansion is supported by the Streetwise menu, which is designed to remain accessible to Zambian consumers. The expansion is expected to create approximately 30 jobs per new restaurant, with a focus on developing local teams.

In Uganda, KFC has concluded its #IAmStreetwise social media campaign. The initiative rewarded customers who shared content featuring Streetwise meals with an adventure trip to Extreme Adventure Park Busiika. Seela Khalayi, Country Manager of KFC Uganda, stated the campaign was intended to celebrate customers and provide experiences beyond the restaurant's meals.
