Khanh Hoa develops Halal tourism ecosystem

Khanh Hoa province is developing a Halal tourism ecosystem to align with the provincial tourism development strategy for 2026–2030 and beyond. The initiative aims to capitalize on the growing number of visitors from Muslim-majority markets, including Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Middle East.

Key components of the plan include expanding direct flights to these target markets and utilizing technology at Cam Ranh International Airport, such as QR codes, to help travelers locate Halal-certified accommodations, restaurants, and services. The province is also researching the establishment of a Halal Tourism Alliance to foster coordination between travel agencies, hotels, airlines, and suppliers. To ensure quality, authorities will increase inspections of food safety standards at culinary streets and dining establishments to meet Halal requirements.
