Khanh Hoa Police warn of sophisticated Zalo impersonation scams

The Khanh Hoa Provincial Police have issued a warning regarding a sophisticated scam targeting Zalo users. Fraudsters are using stolen personal information, images, and voice-cloning technology to impersonate family members.

In this specific tactic, scammers do not ask the victim for money directly. Instead, they pose as a relative in urgent need and instruct the victim to contact another real family member to request a fund transfer. The scammer provides a third-party bank account for the transfer. Because the victim is calling a legitimate relative to ask for help, the relative believes the request is genuine and completes the transaction, unknowingly sending money to the fraudster's account.
